BACKGROUND
AIRPORTS Sacco Limited was formed on 25th March, 1994 and derives its membership from staff of Kenya Airports Authority. About 18 members attended the first meeting, which was held on 14th April 1994, at KAA Headquarters. From the same meeting five Interim Officials were elected as follows:

AIRPORTS Sacco was officially registered on 11th November 1994 and had a Share Capital of KShs240,000. It also joined the membership of Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives Ltd (KUSCCO) the same year with 100 shares worth KShs10,000. AIRPORTS SACCO recognizes that a cooperative is the most suited avenue through which small-scale practitioners can jointly and severally add to their net worth. AIRPORTS therefore commits to good corporate governance and practices. AIRPORTS SACCO has taken a bold step in investing its resources to provide focus and direction to achieve the vision to be a leading, dynamic, vibrant and trusted Sacco service provider in the country.
ORGANISATION STRUCTURE
Membership
AIRPORTS Sacco will develop organizational and implementation strategies around key success factors, differentiating itself as an institution that is PRUDENT and ACCOUNTABLE.
The Sacco will establish its success planning based on a clear understanding of the need to increase members’ wealth and yet be available to attend to members’ needs.
The society’s membership has been on an upward trend between 2006-2010.The positive trend is attributed to the introduction of new products.

SACCO’s management team comprises professionals and experienced personnel, supported by adequate internal control and processing infrastructure, including Information Communication Technology. The organizational structure and personnel plan will always reflect the intention to maintain an organization that is prudent, accountable and technologically proficient, while efficiently managing cost and productivity.
